I would think the best way to avoid being profiled to not be in an area where you are likely to be profiled. You need to be careful CeeBee. I get the feeling you are spending a lot time in areas that are not safe for you. I don't know if the cop in your case is a racist or not, but I do know they do look for patterns of behaviour. Be careful.

Why should it matter where I was sitting? I was simply having a conversation with someone about some things I had been through, nothing more, nothing less, and they were just SURE I was doing something. They had absolutely NO REASON once again, to search my car. period.

Even if I were sitting in walter p (which I wasnt) it doesnt justify them pulling in and seaching my car, now maybe if they had seen me go in somewhere or come out somewhere, that would have justified the search or been questionable, but none of that was the case. So they just acted on an "assumption", nothing more.

I tend to go along with that thinking, too.

Yes, there are cops that are weasels, just like there are people in every profession who are weasels, but not all cops are weasels. They have a job to do and most of them do it the right way and according to "the book".

Sometimes like in Magnum's case, mistakes are made, but I honestly believe that is the exception, rather than the rule.

It’s not always about what’s fair or what’s right. Two concepts I’m trying to teach my son are situational awareness and threat assessment. Your question asking “Why should it matter where I was sitting?” sounds like my kid. I tell him, doesn’t matter if it’s fair or not. Be careful about where you are and who is around you. There are just some situations that can yield nothing good no matter how much you wish otherwise. Something about you or your friend caught the attention of the police. As for it not mattering if you were in “Walter P”, you need to be careful. The police may have been concerned for your safety as much as anything else. They may have been trying to scare you away for your own good. You’re not from that world or culture and in the end, nothing good will come from it. Just my opinion, offered as a friend.
